Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors is out indefinitely due to ligament damage.

Steph Curry, the top player for the Golden State Warriors, may need to miss a lengthy amount of time due to an injury sustained during the team's 119-113 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

After colliding with a Mavs player in the third quarter, the 34-year-old had to leave the game with what appeared to be a knee injury.

Curry suffered "partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane as well as a bruise to his lower leg," the Warriors said in a statement on Sunday.

Curry won't play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, according to the team, and a comeback date will be revealed soon.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters, "I didn't know those ligaments existed.

"I believe the most important thing is that he will be out for a while. In a few days, we're going to reevaluate.

Before leaving the court injured, Curry concluded the game on Saturday with 21 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

After missing 11 games between December and January due to a shoulder ailment, the two-time MVP is now facing his second stint on the sidelines this season.

The good news is that he will return, Kerr said.

Although the specific date is unknown, the injury won't prevent him from playing the rest of the season. This season, perhaps sooner rather than later, he will return.
