An incredible goal is scored by a Scottish football player inside his own half

Hearts of Scotland still has three more months of games to play, but on Saturday, Stephen Humphrys scored what is already being heralded as "the goal of the season."

Humphrys gained control of the ball on the edge of his team's own penalty box, outran two defenders, and found himself in an open area.

In spite of being surrounded by four defenders, he lined up a shot from within his own half that soared over the Dundee goalkeeper's outstretched hand and into the net.

"There's no way," As Humphrys cannoned the ball upfield, Hearts TV pundits exclaimed. Their world appeared to explode with happiness in the split second it took for the ball to get closer to the goal. "From his own half, he scored! It's incredible!

Later, Humphrys told BBC Scotland that he planned to celebrate by "probably FaceTim(ing) my parents and dad down the road, followed by a Chinese lunch, bath, and then bed. This evening, Love Island is not on, therefore I won't be watching it.

Hearts defeated Dundee United with 10 men, coming back from a 1-0 deficit to win 3-1 thanks to his miraculous goal.

According to manager Robbie Nielsen, "The first portion describes him up to a tee; the pace and power to go away from the defenders." "The finish is simply fantastic. Everyone in the stadium experienced a little slowdown in time, in my opinion. It will undoubtedly be the season's most important goal.

After just 29 minutes, defender Ryan Edwards was sent off for a risky tackle, giving the Jam Tarts a chance to tie the game after Dundee had taken an early lead.

Prior to Cochrane giving the Edinburgh team a lead late on and Humphrys' howitzer securing victory, Shankland restored parity for Hearts on the 71st minute.

Following Hearts' victory, Livingston dropped to fourth position in the Scottish Premiership, seven points behind third-placed Hearts.
