The Jacksonville Jaguars defeat the Los Angeles Chargers after coming from 27-0 down in the playoffs.

What could have happened next as the Jacksonville Jaguars faced the Los Angeles Chargers in the opening round of the NFL playoffs after an unlikely string of five victories at the close of the regular season propelled them to a division title and a berth?

How about an unlikely comeback in the playoffs.

At Jacksonville's TIAA Bank Field on Saturday night, the Jaguars, who were down 27-0 in the first quarter, went on a spectacular run that ended with a last-second field goal to defeat the Chargers 31-30.

The Jaguars had the worst first half a team could have had. Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback for Jacksonville, tossed four picks as the club slipped behind. Just before halftime, Lawrence calmed down and threw a touchdown to reduce the margin to 27-7.
Lawrence threw three more touchdown passes in the second half to ultimately win the game 30-28. The Jaguars defense made a major play with less than four minutes left in the game, forcing the Chargers to punt.

Riley Patterson made the game-winning field goal from 36 yards out as Jacksonville advanced down the field to cap the comeback.

The comeback of 27 points ranks third all-time in NFL playoff history.

With 288 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions, Lawrence would finish the game.

Before their winning streak, the Jaguars struggled to a 4-8 record in the regular season. They are now waiting to see who they will face in the playoffs.

49ers defeat the Seahawks
Brock Purdy, a rookie phenom, had a great game as the San Francisco 49ers upset the Seattle Seahawks 41–23 earlier on Saturday.

The quarterback, who is 23 years old, passed for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Christian McCaffrey, a running back for the 49ers, tallied 119 yards on the rush and scored a touchdown.

Since taking over for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo, Purdy, dubbed "Mr. Irrelevant" for being selected with the final choice in the 2022 NFL Draft, is 6-0 as a starter.

If the 49ers defeat the New York Giants on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings will visit, or if the Vikings lose, the 49ers will face the winner of Monday's contest between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys.

With three games on Sunday and one on Monday, the Wild Card round continues. On February 12, Super Bowl LVII will take place at Glendale, Arizona's State Farm Stadium.
